hi to everyone , im a newbie . im not to good on pc,s so i hope u will bear with me . i have had ra for 8yrs now and it as totaly changed my life , for the worse i might add . i look forward to making new friends who no what its like to live with ra . thanks .

Welcome to the forum. I am Sheila aged 60 diagnosed with RA for 9 years and currently on mxt. You will definitely make new friends on the forum. You need never feel alone with RA again. This is the place to share experiences, have a moan, ask questions and speak to people in the same boat. You will be very pleased that you joined the forum and you will get lots of welcome messages from everyone because they are all lovely. Look forward to speaking to you again John. Don't worry about your typing. You will be on here so often you will make secretary of the year by Christmas.

hi John,
and welcome.
you'll soon get used to the way the forum works, and you will always get support and advice here.
i've learnt so much on here .. i always think that you would never get all these opinions/help/advice in one room, so this is a great place.
RA definately changes things, but gradually over the last 16 months i've come to nearly accept this.
i've currently started on Humira having failed on Methotrexate and Hydroxy.
let us know what meds you are on and how you are,

Hello John,
Welcome to the Forum John. Sorry that you have RA but good job you found this forum. It is great for advice,
friendship and moans etc. You will soon learn to type and soon be an expert.
I am Rose 57 from Somerset. Diagnosed in 2008, failed on DMARDS and 1 TNF(humira). I see RA nurse
on Friday for my next stage. I am married to Mike and 2 grown up children and 1 grand daughter aged 7.

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum ,where we all know exactly what it's like to live with RA!
I am 61 and have had RA for 10 years, now taking mtx and humira. I live with my husband Ian and we have a 22 year old daughter.

Hi John Welcome to the forum. A great place to be for support and information; lots of folk, lots of knowledge and a wealth of tried and tested experiences! Glad you have found us and NRAS! I'm Lyn, married to Mike, we have four 'kidults' Abby 23, Ian and Jake 18, and Louis 16. We live in Thornton Cleveleys in north west Lancashire. I was diagnosed with RA 23 years ago and have since run the gauntlet of medication and had several surgical procedures along the way. Currently on Enbrel (been on Biologics for 8 years), Prednisolone, Methotrexate and Naproxen and a wagon load of pain killers and other bits and pieces! But heyho... Keep posting John ... you'll soon improve on the typing speeds  Lyn x

A warm welcome to the forum where you will find lots of people who understand what it was like to live with RA and will offer lots of advice and empathy.
I am 57 and have had RA for 5 years. I am currently on Enbrel and Methotrexate which is keeping the RA under control. I have found this site invaluable as I am sure you will.

hi Anne . thanks for the reply . this wind is playing havoc with my dongle , if u get my drift . not to good on key board , fingers a bit wonky . ive been living on own for the last 6months , sadly its the only way i can cope . im 63 and have retired . i would like to no more about you if thats ok . john

hi to everyone . going fru a tough time at mo . whats worse for me is fatigue , i can put up with the pain , but the fatigue is hard to adjust to . i decided to leave my partner of 14 yrs just so i could cope , u prob think its a cop out , buy i could see no other way out , at least now i plan my day around how i feel . thanks to you all . x

hello john
welcome to the forum.
its hard living with ra, but with the support from all on here, its really helped me. the tiredness is awful, but nap when you can, and there is always a way around a problem. the occupation health dept at the local hospital can help with gadgets and equipment to help, but its easier to go at your own pace than try to keep up with everyone else.

Hope things start getting easier for you soon.
It's sad that you felt you had to leave your partner, but no-one thinks it's a cop out, we are not here to judge you and we all have to do whatever's necessary in order to cope with this disease. On here we all know exactly what it's like to live with RA!
